There are reports that differ slightly but it appears NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell has made a decision on the New Orleans Saints bounty rulings. According to ESPN's Chris Mortensen, the suspensions are:
Sources: Goodell upholds Vilma suspension but keeps game checks on PUP; Fujita reduced 3 games to 1, Hargrove reduced 8 to 7, Smith stays 4— Chris Mortensen (@mortreport) October 9, 2012
The NFL was prepared to suspend each of the players until the players appeal made Goodell go back to the table on discipline.
Vilma's suspension is for the rest of the year after he -- according to the NFL but disputed by Vilma -- personally put a $10,000 bounty on Brett Favre three years ago and contributed to the alleged bounty program. He will keep his game checks while on the physically unable to perform list.
Fujita, whose suspension was reduced by two games, is currently a member of the Browns, Anthony Hargrove, whose suspension was reduced by one game, is a free agent and both Vilma and Will Smith remain with the Saints.
