Buffalo lost, but beat the odds
Pundits had pegged Sunday's game to be a blowout by the New England Patriots, favored by 13.5 points at home. However, on the back of 337 yards passing by Ryan Fitzpatrick, they ensured the Pats couldn't beat the spread.
According to OddsShark, as many as seven outlets were giving the Bills 13.5 points or more. A Patriots' defense that allowed almost 500 yards was the difference. With five receivers finishing with 50 yards or more, and both running backs gaining over 70 yards.
Today's game was the first time since 2009 that the Patriots failed to cover against the Buffalo Bills at home. That game, also had New England favored by 13.5 points, and yet the Bills stuck in the game and lost by one. Today's game causes the Patriots to fall to 31st in the NFL when playing against Buffalo's offense. Meanwhile, the Bills improved to 9th in the NFL when facing the Patriots' vaunted defense.
