Michael Vick has left Sunday's game, opening the door for Nick Foles to take his first NFL snaps.
Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Michael Vick left Sunday's game against the Dallas Cowboys with an apparent head injury.
On a fairly routine play where Vick ran for a short gain, a defender landed on the Eagles' QB who left the field in pain. After being looked at on the sideline by trainers for several minutes, they elected to walk him to the locker room for further evaluation. Recent updates have Vick getting a concussion test, and reporting that he is suffering from some vision loss.
A segment of Eagles fans have been calling for third-round rookie Nick Foles to get opportunities at quarterback, and it appears Michael Vick's injury will open that door. While being escorted to the locker room, Foles was warming up looking to take the first snaps of his NFL career.
Up to this point, head coach Andy Reid was very non-committal on his QB situation, instead electing to start Vick without too much commentary. Judging from the chorus of cheers Nick Foles was getting, it seems Philadelphia Eagles fans are excited for the prospect of change.
