The Denver defense crushed Carolina on Sunday, giving the Broncos hope that the Orange Crush might be back.
The Denver Broncos have been in the spotlight all season thanks to Peyton Manning and the Manning-led offense has lived up to the hype. Manning leads the NFL in passer rating and the Broncos' are amongst the best in the NFL in both total offense and points scored, but there is more to Denver than the offense. The defense is really starting to come along too, which they showed in a 36-14 shellacking of the Panthers on Sunday.
The Broncos held the Panthers to just 250 total yards on the day and picked off Cam Newton twice. One of those interceptions went the other way for a touchdown and one of Denver's seven sacks was good for a safety. It was a great day for the Denver defense and one that led Mile High Report's Bronco Mike to declare that the "Orange Crush" is back.
I don't know about you folks, but with the way our defense has been dominant on 3rd down, forced sacks, gotten pressure, and forced turnovers----they very well may be as strong as our offense which had a rough day. After seeing this performance today and in recent weeks, I for one am not afraid to proclaim that Broncos Country once again has the "Orange Crush".
If the Broncos can add an elite defense to their offense, they might just be Super Bowl contenders yet. Look out for that Orange Crush.
