According to Adam Schefter, the Pittsburgh Steelers have been told that Ben Roethlisberger's shoulder is sprained, but it could also be separated.
Even though the Pittsburgh Steelers escaped Monday Night Football with a 16-13 win over the Kansas City Chiefs, they lost quarterback Ben Roethlisberger to injury. After being sandwiched by two linebackers in the third quarter, Big Ben spent the rest of the second half wearing a sling on his shoulder. Eventually he was taken away from Heinz Field to get his injury evaluated.
According to Adam Schefter on Twitter, the full extent of Roethlisberger's injury hasn't been revealed yet, even to the team. The Steelers have only been told that Roethlisberger's injured shoulder is sprained, but it could turn out to be separated.
Byron Leftwich took over for the Steelers once Big Ben was removed from the game, and will probably end up starting for Pittsburgh in Week 11 if the injury is a bad one. Pittsburgh will face off against the Baltimore Ravens next weekend in a big division match-up. Roethlisberger has been known to play through injuries, even bad ones, and could push himself onto the field for the big division match-up.
