Roethlisberger's status is up in the air entering Ravens week.

Ben Roethlisberger suffered a SC sprain on his throwing (right) shoulder in Monday's game against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin made the announcement at his Monday press conference.

Though Tomlin was expectedly noncommittal on Roethlisberger's status for the Steelers Week 11 game against the Baltimore Ravens, he said Roethlisberger's injury puts him "in the questionable category". Tomlin also noted that Roethlisberger has played without practicing before, so that's an option.

Roethlisberger is viewed as one of the NFL's toughest players, playing through a number of injuries in his career. But a shoulder sprain is different because it affects his throwing motion so much.

The Steelers have Byron Leftwich and Charlie Batch behind him. Leftwich entered the game when Roethlisberger went down against the Chiefs. After the game, Tomlin wouldn't confirm that Leftwich would be the starter in the instance Roethlisberger can't play.
