The Steelers will have an uphill battle on Sunday against Baltimore with Ben Roethlisberger out.
Ben Roethlisberger has been officially ruled out by the team for Sunday's game against the Baltimore Ravens at Heinz Field, according to Ed Bouchette via twitter.
As expected, Byron Leftwich will get the start in place of the two-time Super Bowl champion.
Roethlisberger was injured on Monday night during the Steelers' win over the Kansas City Chiefs. After undergoing testing on Tuesday, it was discovered that Roethlisberger has a sprained SC joint in his throwing shoulder. The timetable for his return hasn't been announced.
Head coach Mike Tomlin had originally listed Roethlisberger as questionable for Sunday's game, much to the surprise of many around the league. However, Tomlin has changed course and put Big Ben on the shelf for the biggest game of Pittsburgh's season.
Roethlisberger may be back in time for the second meeting between the two squads on Dec. 2.
Baltimore will be without some star players of its own, including Ray Lewis and Lardarius Webb.
