Oddsmakers expect a blowout when Houston hosts Jacksonville on Sunday.
The Houston Texans are 8-1, feature one of the NFL's best defenses, and are cruising toward the top seed in the AFC. The Jacksonville Jaguars are 1-8, are still without their best offensive player, and have lost six straight games.
Unsurprisingly, Las Vegas doesn't expect a close game when these two teams meet Sunday. The line at Oddsshark has the Texans as the big favorite in this AFC South matchup, with Houston favored by 16 points over the lowly Jaguars.
Given how bad the Jaguars are offensively — they've been held to 15 points or fewer each of the last three weeks — it's easy to see why oddsmakers think this will be a blowout. Houston is expected to score early and often, then force Blaine Gabbert and Jacksonville's offense to try to catch up. The Jaguars will have to do that with Maurice Jones-Drew still sidelined, and Gabbert coming off a shoulder injury suffered in Week 10.
The over/under is set at 42.5. Overall, Jacksonville is 4-5 against the spread, and Houston is 7-2. The Jaguars have, oddly enough, been able to beat the spread all four times they've played on the road, though Houston is a solid 4-1 against the spread at home.
