San Francisco 49ers head coach Jim Harbaugh is having a "minor procedure" done for an irregular heartbeat, according to a press release from the team. Harbaugh will not be at the facility on Thursday but the 49ers' release states that he is expected back on Friday.
He is being treated at the Stanford Hospital, according to the 49ers.
"We anticipate that he will be back at the facility tomorrow, but do not have any further information to share at this time. Assistant head coach and special teams coordinator Brad Seely will be overseeing today's practice and meetings. When more information regarding coach Harbaugh is available we will pass that along."
Assuming everything goes fine and Harbaugh recovers from the procedure as expected, he'll have one extra day to prepare as the 49ers play on Monday Night Football against the Chicago Bears.
The 49ers are 6-2-1 on the season after ending Week 10 with a tie against the St. Louis Rams.
