Buffalo Bills linebacker Shawne Merriman is still playing football.

Did you know Shawne Merriman is still playing in the NFL? Yep. The Buffalo Bills claim him these days, and the former first-round pick occasionally shows flashes of the former first-round pick.

Here's Merriman blowing up Miami Dolphins Pro Bowl left tackle Jake Long in the second quarter of Thursday's game. Merriman took Long out of the way and tackled Reggie Bush for a loss. Watch.

For those of you keeping score at home, there are three former first-round picks involved in this play. Merriman was the 12th pick in 2005. Long was the first overall pick in 2008. Bush, perhaps the most famous of all, was the second overall pick in 2006. Mario Williams, the first overall pick in 2006, is on the other side of the Bills' line, not pictured here.

That sure is a lot of former first-round picks between a pair of AFC East teams not named the Patriots.
