Jets vs. Rams game recap: New York, Sanchez snap 3-game losing streak

Mark Sanchez was efficient in the Jets' win on Sunday.

The New York Jets snapped a three-game losing streak with a 27-13 win over the St. Louis Rams on Sunday.

In a battle of sub-.500 teams, the Jets' offense came out on top. Bilal Powell had a big game for the Jets, rushing for a pair of touchdowns in the fourth quarter. New York was up, 13-7, when Powell rushed into the endzone twice in a span of six minutes.

New York improved to 4-6 with the win. St. Louis dropped to 3-6-1.

The Jets fell behind early, but grabbed a lead late in the first half when Mark Sanchez hit Chaz Schilens for a 25-yard touchdown pass. The score put New York up, 10-7.

St. Louis opened the scoring with a 1-yard touchdown pass from Sam Bradford to Brandon Gibson late in the first quarter.

New York's Nick Folk hit a pair of 51-yard field goals. He hit one late in the first quarter and another late in the second quarter.

Sanchez steps up

Sanchez has come under fire all season for his poor quarterback play, but he had one of his best games of the season Sunday.

Sanchez completed 15 of 20 passes for 178 yards and a touchdown pass. He did not have a turnover.

Danny Amendola being Danny Amendola

St. Louis Rams wide receiver Danny Amendola returned from injury to play Sunday. Then he left with an injury. Then he returned. Then he left with another injury. It was a typical performance for the four-year man out of Texas Tech:

Battle of the bad

The start of Sunday's game, especially, wasn't too pretty. Bradford threw a pick and surrendered a fumble. While the Jets were fairly error free on the day, the Rams finished with three turnovers.

There was even a block for what looked to be an easy Jets field goal early in the game:

The struggles even had "John Madden" jumping into the fray on Twitter:

Fantasy studs and duds

Sanchez was solid, completing 75 percent of his passes for 178 yards and a score. That could be encouraging for fantasy owners down the road. If anyone started Powell, they'll be happy with his two-touchdown performance.

Bradford had two touchdowns, but he also lost a fumble and threw an interception. That won't make too many fantasy owners happy. Steven Jackson racked up 81 yards, but didn't have a score.

Injury update

Amendola left the game twice with injuries, but he was playing at the end of the game. St. Louis tight end Lance Kendricks limped off the field late in the game. His status is unknown.

Did they cover?

The Rams were 3 1/2-point favorites, so they did not cover.

Next up

The Jets don't have much time to recoup from Sunday's game. They'll host the New England Patriots on Thanksgiving night. St. Louis travels to play Arizona next Sunday.
