LeSean McCoy injury: Eagles RB carted off field

McCoy was injured on a helmet-to-helmet hit Sunday.

Philadelphia Eagles running back LeSean McCoy was carted off the field late in Sunday's game after a helmet-to-helmet hit.

According to the Eagles' official website, McCoy has a concussion.

Despite getting blown out by the Washington Redskins, 31-6, McCoy was still playing late in the game. He suffered the injury on a hit from safety Madieu Williams.

Before his injury, McCoy had 45 yards and a fumble on 15 carries. McCoy was the team's leading receiver, catching six passes for 67 yards.

McCoy came into the season considered one of the top three backs in the NFL, but the fourth-year man out of Pittsburgh hasn't quite lived up to the hype. In nine games, McCoy has racked up 705 yards and two touchdowns on 162 carries.

The numbers are good, but don't match up to his 2011 season. Last season, McCoy had 1,309 rushing yards and 20 total touchdowns in 15 games for the Eagles.

With the loss Sunday, the Eagles fell to 3-7 and have lost six in a row.
