Eagles vs. Redskins 2012: Philadelphia embarrassed in ugly loss

The Philadelphia Eagles were embarrassed in a 31-6 loss to the Washington Redskins. The loss was the Eagles' sixth straight on the year.

The Philadelphia Eagles hit a new low this season in a brutal 31-6 loss on Sunday to the Washington Redskins. The loss was the Eagles' sixth straight, and to cap it all off, they lost star running back LeSean McCoy to a concussion in the fourth quarter. This injury comes one week after starting quarterback Michael Vick suffered a concussion.

This season has been a train wreck for the Eagles, and SB Nation's Eagles blog Bleeding Green Nation thinks the "long line of embarrassments" will cost coach Andy Reid his job:

Just to put how bad this Eagles team is in context... This is their 6th straight loss, which is the longest losing streak since Rich Kotite's 1994 team lost 7 straight to the end the season. He was fired after the year, which certainly looks like the fate Andy Reid is headed for. In fact, the question right now seems to be more "when" rather than "if."

This game was just another in a long line of embarrassments this season, full of such ineptitude that it's really become comical. This isn't simply a case of bad luck or coming up short... they're losing in spectacular fashion.

Philadelphia's defense was torched by Robert Griffin III and the Washington offense all day long. Griffin completed 14-of-15 passes for 200 yards and four touchdowns. Those numbers were good for a perfect quarterback rating.

On the other side of the ball, Nick Foles, starting in place of Vick, was mostly wretched. Foles completed just 21-of-46 passes for 204 yards and two interceptions. He also fumbled three times, although he did not lose any of those fumbles.

Philadelphia is now 3-7 and will host the Carolina Panthers in Week 12.
