Norv Turner got the win he was looking for against the Kansas City Chiefs, assuring he would keep his job another week on Thursday Night Football.
It was probably a closer game than the San Diego Chargers were hoping for, at least through the first three quarters, but they got a blowout win in the end over the Kansas City Chiefs on Thursday night. San Diego's 31-13 victory was gritty at the start, but the Chargers were able to hold on and get the big win that Norv Turner had been hoping to pick up.
Chargers blog Bolts From The Blue wrote after the game that the win should keep Turner in the Chargers coaching spot for at least another week, and a win that will open a whole lot of questions about whether or not this is the Chargers team that will be showing up to games for the rest of the season:
The blowout was official and Norv's wacky bunch gets to keep their coach for at least another week for a matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Is this the turning point? Can the Chargers really salvage this season? Could they be in first place in two weeks? Or was this simply the case of the Chiefs being better at giving games away than the Chargers?
San Diego will take on the Buccaneers next Sunday in Florida as the Chargers look for another, bigger win to add to their resume. Both of San Diego's last two wins have come against Kansas City, with three less-than-stellar losses in between. With the AFC West currently clustered together fairly closely, there's a chance that the Chargers could come out on top of the division with a strong run over the next few weeks.
