Two turnovers for touchdowns, a Matt Cassel fumble in particular, crumbled the close game that the Kansas City Chiefs had held San Diego to through three quarters on Thursday night.
The Kansas City Chiefs were at least able to keep the game close on Thursday night for three quarters, but blew up in the fourth quarter as their mistakes began to cost them. San Diego escaped with a 31-13 win despite being up only 10-6 at the end of the third quarter.
Kansas City committed its usual share of turnovers, giving San Diego the ball four times. Unfortunately for the Chiefs, two of those turnovers went straight into the end zone. Chiefs blog Arrowhead Pride laid out "the most Chiefs play of the night," one of the spots where it all went wrong for Kansas City on the evening:

Oh man.
Another prime-time game awaits the Chiefs next on their schedule, as they get an 11-day break from football to rest up and prepare for the Pittsburgh Steelers on Monday Night Football. As Arrowhead Pride wrote later on Friday, they would hate to lose two straight prime-time games like they did in 2011.
