NFL inactive list, Week 12: Texans vs. Lions

Thomas Campbell-US PRESSWIRE

Jeff Backus is out as expected for the Detroit Lions, meaning he'll miss his first career game after playing 186 consecutively. Texans CB Johnathan Joseph and Lions DT Corey Williams were ruled out of the game.

Detroit Lions offensive lineman Jeff Backus won't be playing for the first time in his NFL career, and Titus Young is also inactive for the team's Thanksgiving Day game against the Houston Texans.

Backus played in 186 consecutive games, but Riley Reiff will start at left tackle as Backus' hamstring injury will keep him out of Thursday's game. Titus Young has been ruled out as expected due to his knee injury. Nick Fairley is able to go with despite missing practice all week with an illness, but fellow lineman Corey Williams, who is also sick, won't be able to play.

For the Texans, Shaun Cody will sit out a third straight game after being listed as probable with a back injury. Starting cornerback Johnathan Joseph has been ruled out with his hamstring injury after not practicing all week, while Owen Daniels, who also listed as probable, is good to go. Ben Tate will sit a fourth straight game after not practicing all week.

Here's the full lists of inactive players for both teams in the first of three Thanksgiving Day games:
