Looking to wrap up a season sweep of Rex Ryan's Jets on Thanksgiving, the New England Patriots will welcome back the services of star tight end Aaron Hernandez for Thursday's Week 12 game against New York.
Hernandez avoided New England's inactive list for the first time in six weeks despite being a limited participant in practice, a distinction that his teammate Rob Gronkowski was unable to escape on Thursday night. In addition to Gronkowski, a pair of key offensive linemen in Logan Mankins and Sebastian Vollmer were each listed on New England's inactive list. The Patriots will benefit on the defensive side of the ball from having safety Pat Chung in uniform, but also ruled out a trio of defenders including lineman Chandler Jones.
While the Jets were forced to deal with a number of minor injuries following their Week 11 victory over St. Louis, Ryan's team will enter Thursday's game relatively fresh. Defensive back Aaron Berry topped the inactive list with a hamstring injury, while starting linebacker Bart Scott is expected to be in action despite dealing with a toe injury earlier in the week.
