Carson Palmer returns to Cincinnati to face his former team and his replacement, Andy Dalton.
Carson Palmer wanted out of Cincinnati so badly he retired for a short time to force the team's hand for a trade. That worked out for the Bengals, who are looking to make the playoffs for a second-straight season under Palmer's replacement.
Andy Dalton and the Cincinnati Bengals welcome Palmer back to Cincy on Sunday when the Oakland Raiders come to town. The Bengals (5-5) are seeking their third-straight win to keep their hopes of at least a Wild Card spot alive. Right now, they're on the outside looking in, with the Indianapolis Colts and Pittsburgh Steelers occupying the fifth and sixth spots in the playoffs.
Meanwhile, Palmer isn't enjoying the success in Oakland he sought while seeking greener pastures. The Raiders (3-7) appear to be headed for their 10th-straight season missing the playoffs, and Palmer can expect plenty of boos when he returns to the franchise he led to two playoff appearances in seven seasons.
