The San Francisco 49ers visit the New Orleans Saints in a rematch of last year's wild NFC Divisional playoff game on Sunday afternoon. The 49ers are catching the Saints at the wrong time, as New Orleans has won three-straight games and is 5-5 after starting the year 0-4.

San Francisco is coming off a dominant win over the Chicago Bears last Monday night. Backup quarterback Colin Kaepernick put on a show, and that has created a controversy for the 49ers. Alex Smith has still not been cleared to play after suffering a concussion, and Kaepernick is taking the first-team reps this week.

New Orleans has rebounded well and now finds itself in the NFC playoff picture. Drew Brees has been performing well as the Saint's defense has tightened up in recent weeks.

The 49ers won the last meeting between these two teams, a 36-32 victory that sent them to the NFC Championship game.
