Corey Peters left the game in the third quarter of the Falcons' matchup with the Buccaneers with a shoulder injury.
Atlanta Falcons defensive tackle Corey Peters was injured in the third quarter of the Falcons' matchup with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Peters walked off the field under his own power after injuring his left shoulder, and his return to the game is questionable.
The third-year player from Kentucky only has one tackle this year, but he provides much-needed depth on the Falcons' defensive line.
If the Falcons are without one of their key cogs along the defensive front, it could mean that the Buccaneers gain an edge with their running game, powered by explosive rookie Doug Martin.
A win today could go a long way toward helping the Falcons put away the NFC south, but both the Buccaneers and the Saints are charging hard on their heels. The Buccaneers have won four straight games and the Saints have won five of the last six.
The Falcons lead the Buccaneers, 17-13, in the third quarter.
