NFL scores update, Week 12: Julio Jones and Cecil Shorts III make big catches

Scott Cunningham

In the third quarter, some games are close to being decided.

The third quarter is coming to a close in the slate of eight early games, and here are you score updates:

In Tampa Bay, receiver Julio Jones of the Atlanta Falcons is giving the Buccaneers' secondary trouble. With a huge 80-yard touchdown, he now has 123 yards receving on the day with plenty of time left on the clock to add to his total. Josh Freeman has missed easy passes to Vincent Jackson, which could have evened up the score -- for now, the Falcons lead.

The Jacksonville Jaguars made a QB change this week as Blaine Gabbert went to injured reserve, allowing Chad Henne to be cemented as the starter for Mike Mularkey's team. While Cecil Shorts III hasn't had many opportunities, he's made the most of limited chances with a 59-yard touchdown in the third quarter.
