Chris Humphreys-US PRESSWIRE
In a slate of three late games, it's San Francisco's second-year QB who is making an impact.
The late games are all within one score, as this afternoon's contests have been close early.
Completing 4-of-5 for 82 yards and rushing for a touchdown, Colin Kaepernick is showing why head coach Jim Harbaugh put so much faith in his 2011 second-round pick. Drew Brees is being his old self, also with only one incompete pass en route to 73 yards and a touchdown.
For the remaining four quarterbacks on display, only Philip Rivers is having a good day as he's thrown for 102 yards and a touchdown against the Baltimore Ravens. Ryan Matthews is also running well, with 43 yards early. Neither team has been able to convert reliably on third down, turning the late game into a rather sloppy affair on offense for the Ravens.
