The Panthers own the NFC's worst record this season at 2-8. Carolina has lost numerous close games this season; six of the team's eight losses have been by six points or fewer, and Carolina led in the fourth quarter in four of the losses. Last week's loss against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers is a prime example of Carolina's struggles late in games. The Panthers' lead by 11 with five minutes remaining, but blew the lead and lost in overtime 27-21.
The Eagles at 3-7 own the NFC's second-worst record. The Eagles started the season 3-1, but have dropped six straight games following a win over the New York Giants. The six-game losing streak is the longest Eagles losing streak since 1994, five years before Andy Reid became head coach.
Reid and the Eagles may face a hostile crowd on Monday night. Reid gave carries to LeSean McCoy at the end of a 31-6 blowout against the Washington Redskins, and McCoy suffered a concussion. Neither McCoy or Michael Vick have practiced this week, making their status uncertain for Monday's game. Bryce Brown and Nick Foles will start in their absence if they are unable to play.
