Holding Doug Martin to a minimal performance and topping the hot Buccaneers is enough to bring cheer to Falcons fans.

Another week spelled another close win for the Atlanta Falcons, enough for Falcons faithful to take solace in the fact that Atlanta is the second team to 10 wins in the NFL, after topping a strong Tampa Bay Buccaneers squad on Sunday.

Over at The Falcoholic, the close win over one of the league's hottest teams was enough for a celebration. The win also solidified the Falcons' playoff push after beating a fellow NFC South combatant that had climbed into the race in these last few weekends.

Against a team like the Panthers or Raiders, this kind of win might not be worth a massive celebration. Against one of the hottest offenses in the NFL and a team that had won four straight, it's worth every single woo and cheer you can spare.

Some bench mark achievements, both on the offensive and defensive front, allowed the bloggers to take some real pleasure in topping the Buccaneers and running back Doug Martin.

Against a very good, very tough Buccaneers team on the road, the Falcons did just enough to walk away with their 10th win of the season. ...

The Falcons held the league's second-hottest running back to 50 yards on 21 carries.

And despite two missed field goals, offensive strength shined in the victory.

  • Matt Ryan throw for over 350 yards.
  • Jacquizz Rodgers proved his worth to this offense at last, making Michael Turner the lesser option going forward (we hope).
