Kaepernick faced a lot of questions this past week, but he answered just about all of them while beating the Saints on Sunday.

Head coach Jim Harbaugh made a surprising move when he anointed Colin Kaepernick as the starting quarterback of the 49ers last week.

Kaepernick answered any questions the fans or media had for him on Sunday, leading the 49ers to a big 31-21 road win over the Saints. He threw for 231 yards and a touchdown, and completed 16 of his 25 pass attempts. Kaepernick also rushed the ball six times for 27 yards and a score, which is something Smith has seldom been able to do during his tenure in San Francisco.

SB Nation's 49ers blog, Niners Nation, was really happy with the way Kaepernick played on Sunday.

Colin Kaepernick deserves a ton of credit for coming into an incredibly hostile atmosphere and putting together a solid performance. He made his share of mistakes, including the interception and struggling with the crowd noise, but he made quite a few plays that I think most of us agree Alex Smith would not have attempted. I suppose that requires certain assumptions, but as much as I like Alex Smith, it's the plain truth. The way Colin Kaepernick used his arm and legs was frequently solid and sometimes spectacular.

Kaepernick was not perfect on Sunday; he threw a key interception and struggled to command the offense once the crowd got loud. This being said, there was a lot to like, and he will only improve in the coming weeks as he continues to gain valuable experience.

The 49ers will likely go with Kaepernick as the starter yet again as they take on the St. Louis Rams in Week 13.
