The Miami Dolphins got a much-needed victory on Sunday at home, defeating the Seattle Seahawks by the score of 24-21 with a field goal off the leg of Dan Carpenter as time expired. The victory snapped a three-game losing streak and kept the Dolphins in the hunt for the playoffs.
After falling behind in the second half against the Seahawks on Sunday, rookie quarterback Ryan Tannehill showed flashes of promise once again. Kevin Nogle of SB Nation's Miami Dolphins blog, The Phinsider, talked about Tannehill stepping up in the fourth quarter, helping the Dolphins complete the comeback with a late drive to set up the game-winning field goal.
The defense was the strong point for the team this week, but the story really is the production from Ryan Tannehill and the offense late in the game. Tannehill stepped up and carried the team, and showed the flashes that make him look like the Dolphins may have finally answered their quarterback question.
The 5-6 Dolphins will stay at home and prepare for a big game on Sunday against the visiting New England Patriots, who currently lead the AFC East. Miami is currently three games back of the Patriots, but could cut it to two with a win.
