Matt Schaub on Ndamukong Suh: 'You don't want a player like that'

Tim Fuller-US PRESSWIRE

Houston Texans quarterback Matt Schaub said he wouldn't want a player like Detroit's Ndamukong Suh on his team.

Four days after taking Ndamukong Suh's foot to his groin, Houston Texans quarterback Matt Schaub told a Houston sports radio station that he wouldn't want a player like Suh on his team. Schaub told Houston's SportsRadio 610 on Monday that the Detroit Lions' defensive tackle wouldn't fit with the Texans:

"You don't want a player like that. The stuff that he stands for and the type of player he is, that's not Houston Texan-worthy. That's not what we're about as a football team, as individuals, collectively as a group, we're not that type of person."

Suh kicked Schaub in the groin on Thanksgiving Day, and the NFL is looking at the replays on Monday to determine if the Lions' tackle did it intentionally. While it wasn't obvious whether Suh kicked his leg out intentionally or whether it was a reaction to his fall to the turf, an NFL official told ESPN that Suh wouldn't get "any benefit of the doubt" in the analysis of the play because of his history.

Last Thanksgiving against the Green Bay Packers, Suh stomped on Packers lineman Evan Dietrich-Smith while he was lying on the ground after the whistle had been blown. Suh was suspended two games for that play.

Monday's comments come after Schaub was relatively quiet about the incident following the game. Suh did not speak to reporters afterward.
