US PRESSWIRE
Panthers defensive end Greg Hardy taken to the locker room after leaving the field "in pain."
Half way through the second quarter of the Carolina Panthers' game against the Redskins on the road in Washington, starting defensive end Greg Hardy was taken to the locker room due to an unknown injury, but was described leaving the field in pain.
Hardy is the second-leading pass rusher on the Panthers defense having racked up five sacks in the first half of the season. Only Charles Johnson has more sacks on the team, with 5.5. If Hardy doesn't return, the Panthers could struggle with putting enough pressure on Robert Griffin III to keep him uncomfortable in the pocket.
Stay tuned for more updates on Hardy as the story develops.
