Robert Griffin III is having moderate success through the air against the Carolina Panthers today, but their defense is finding ways to contain the Washington Redskins' rookie phenom.
Completing 70 percent of his passes, RGIII is currently 7/10 for 61 yards passing, while on the ground he hasn't had many opportunities, but he remains effective with two carries for 15 yards. As a response the Panthers have been using multiple linebacker to contain Griffin III, with Thomas Davis and Luke Kuechly both spending time spying the multi-talented quarterback.
Mike Shanahan has no qualms of trying for fourth-down conversions today, attempting three, and converting two. With the lack of respect the Redskins' offense have for the Carolina Panthers defense, it should afford a lot more opportunities for Griffin III to pick up yards. Furthermore, the Panthers are having injury issues on their defense, with both the aforementioned Davis, and starting defensive end Greg Hardy spending time on the sideline being looked at by trainers.
