Rookie QB passes 500 rushing yards on the season
Robert Griffin III has been everything the Washington Redskins could have asked for when they traded up to make him the 2nd overall pick in the draft. This season he has been incredibly accurate with his arm, but today with his legs he crossed a milestone.
Midway through the third quarter, after being flushed from the pocket by the Panthers' pass rush, RGIII scampered for six yards before darting out of bounds. A fairly routine play, but it caused the rookie QB to cross 500 rushing yards on the year. Moreover, it caused the Redskins to set a record of their own: the first team in NFL history with two rookies to eclipse the 500-yard rushing mark, with Alfred Morris hitting the mark earlier in the season.
It's still early in RGIII's career, but thus far the Griffin/Morris pairing has been incredibly effective for Washington.
