Browns HC isn't taking chances. He likes field goals just fine.
With the Browns down 14-12 in the fourth quarter, Pat Shurmur didn't want to mess around. Touchdowns are passé. What's the fun in winning by scoring six or seven points at a time when you can drive down the field and kick the ball? It's football, gosh darn it, not passball.
So, naturally Pat Shurmur ran an inside handoff that Jim Grobe would be proud of on third and 11 to center the ball and set up a Phil Dawson field goal.
Browns seriously just ran the ball on third-and-11 to set up a field goal in a 14-12 game. From 41 yards.

If that's not about the most #goacc thing ever, I don't know what is. I mean, punting on fourth and 1 at the 38 is too, and Shurmur already did that against the Colts. We know the Boston College job is opening up next year, and we know Pat Shurmur is going to be fired, so maybe he's auditioning right now. Buck up, Shurm, you're doing just fine.
