Andrew Luck broke the rookie record for passing yards and pulled off a 23-20 win against the Dolphins in Indianapolis

Another week, another win - and another step toward making Colts fans not miss Peyton Manning.

Andrew Luck set the NFL rookie record for passing yards in a game, throwing for 433 yards and two touchdowns as he led the Colts to their third straight victory, a 23-20 win over the Miami Dolphins.

In a battle between two first-round quarterbacks, Luck shined in front of the home crowd, connecting with Reggie Wayne and T.Y. Hilton for touchdowns, converting a staggering 12 of 18 third downs, snapping Cam Newton's rookie record for passing yards in a game, and remarkably keeping the Colts in the hunt for the playoffs.

The Colts grabbed an early first quarter lead when the first overall pick connected with Wayne for a nine-yard touchdown that made the score 10-3, but Tannehill - who had his own superb day in defeat - helped the Dolphins respond in emphatic fashion.

Tannehill connected with Charles Clay on a 31-yard touchdown to tie the score, and, after a Colts field goal, Bush flashed vintage speed and elusiveness on an 18-yard touchdown run where he left at least four Indy defenders grasping at air.

An Adam Vinateri field goal before the half gave the Dolphins a 17-13 lead at half - but that margin wouldn't last.

Late in the third quarter, Luck flung a prayer into double coverage that found the hands of fellow rookie T.Y. Hilton for a 36-yard touchdown to make the score 20-17 and send the Colts into the final stanza with a lead and ever-expanding playoff hopes.

After both teams traded field goals in the fourth quarter to make the score 23-20, the Dolphins had one final chance to score and steal the win from Luck's hands, but a fourth-and-15 pass came up one yard short and the Colts sealed their fifth win of the year.

The 5-3 Colts now travel to Jacksonville to take on the Jaguars, while the 4-4 Dolphins welcome in the Titans to Miami next week.

Fantasy studs: Andrew Luck headlined the day, and all of the Colts receivers benefitted from his phenomenal performance. Reggie Wayne had seven catches for 78 yards and a touchdown, Hilton had six catches for 102 yards and a score, Donnie Avery, who left the game with a hip injury, had five catches for 108 yards, and Dwayne Allen caught six balls for 75 yards. Brian Hartline had a nice day for the Dolphins, catching eight passes for 107 yards.

Fantasy duds: The Colts running backs were unspectacular - Vick Ballard led all runners with 16 carries for 60 yards.

Did they cover?: The Dolphins were favored by two points, and thus did not cover.
