Jacquizz Rodgers' two key third down conversions help the Falcons beat the Cowboys, 19-13.
With the Atlanta Falcons up just three points and looking to burn the remaining five minutes on the clock in their Sunday night meeting with the Dallas Cobwoys, two Jacquizz Rodgers catch and runs to gain first down yardage proved key to the Falcons eventual victory.
After the Falcons committed an offensive pass interference on their first play from scrimmage after the Dallas Cowboys had closed the gap to three, Rodgers hauled in a pass from Matt Ryan two plays later on 3rd-and-6 and evaded a tackle to gain the first big first down of the drive.
With the clock continuing to run, the Falcons were given another first down after a defensive holding call went against the Cowboys.
Facing a 3rd-and-5 later in the same drive, Ryan turned Rodgers' way again, and Rodgers delivered. Rodgers planted his foot and got more the first down yardage and more to help the Falcons grab a late field goal and bring the clock to just 17 seconds when the Cowboys got the ball back for their attempt at a game-winning drive.
The Cowboys would come up short on the drive, as the Falcons prevailed, 19-13.
