The Seahawks are an almost unanimous choice to defeat the Jets on Sunday in Seattle.
The Seahawks are playing at home. The Seahawks don't lose at home. So it isn't a surprise that the Seahawks have garnered the support of 24 different sportswriters and personalities from three different websites heading into their game on Sunday against the New York Jets.
All four experts for Yahoo! Sports picked the Seahawks and all 12 from ESPN chose the Seattle as well. Six from CBS Sports picked the Seahawks with only Will Brinson and Josh Katzowitz going against the grain by picking the Jets.
The Jets are 3-5 overall, 1-2 on the road while the Seahawks are 5-4 and 4-0 at home. The Seahawks have what is widely considered to be the best homefield advantage in the league due to a consistently rowdy crowd.
It is telling in the play of their rookie quarterback, Russell Wilson. Wilson has thrown for nine touchdowns with no interceptions and a 120.2 passer rating in home games, compared to four touchdowns and eight interceptions with a 65.8 passer rating on the road.
Meanwhile, the Jets have lost four of their last five games, including a 30-9 drubbing at the hands of the Miami Dolphins last Sunday.
