Kansas City mayor Sly James has been in contact with the Chiefs organization regarding the murder-suicide of Jovan Belcher. Jeff Passan of Yahoo! relays that the team's initial thought is that their Week 13 game against the Panthers should be played on Sunday. Via Passan:

Passan also tweeted that the mayor had spoken to Chiefs GM Scott Pioli, who is expectedly emotional about the terrible events of Saturday morning.

Reports indicate that Pioli, along with head coach Romeo Crennel, met with Belcher in the team's parking lot as the linebacker held a gun to his head. The parties apparently had a brief interaction before Belcher took his own life as the police appeared on scene at the Chiefs facilities.
