Likely due to the struggles of their offense, the Jets are slight underdogs to the Tennessee Titans this week. Can New York's defense bail the team out once again?
The Tennessee Titans are favored by one point over the New York Jets heading into their Week 14 meeting at LP Field in Nashville, Tenn. on Monday night, according to OddsShark.com.
The Jets are 7-6 against the spread this season, and have covered in each of their last six meetings with the Titans. If they want to make it seven straight, the Jets will likely have to rely on their defense once again; the Jets are 3-1 against the spread in their past four games despite scoring less than 15 points per game.
The over/under is set at 42, which is close to what the Jets and their opponents have combined for up to this point. New York scores less than 19 points per game while allowing 23.5. Meanwhile, the Titans and their foes have combined to score over 50 points per game, thanks to Tennessee's poor defense, which has allowed nearly 30 points per contest.
The Jets and Titans are slated to kick off at 8:30 p.m. ET on Monday. The game will be televised on ESPN.
