The Rams and Vikings are playing meaningful football in Week 15, and the winner will continue to do so next week. If the picks are any indication, that team resides in St. Louis.
The Minnesota Vikings and St. Louis Rams will square off on Sunday in a game that will surprisingly feature fairly significant playoff implications.
The Vikings (7-6) and Rams (6-6-1) are both at a disadvantage due to tiebreakers, but the team that wins on Sunday will be in great position if it gets some help. Losses by the Dallas Cowboys, Washington Redskins and Seattle Seahawks would make things quite interesting.
Minnesota is in the thick of the playoff race despite having the NFL's worst passing offense. That's mainly due to running back Adrian Peterson, who is on pace to break Eric Dickerson's all-time record for rushing yards in a single season. Meanwhile, the Rams are in the hunt thanks to a defense that ranks No. 10 in the league in yards allowed per game.
The Rams will have the benefit of playing the game at their home stadium, and that advantage seems to be reflected at ESPN, as six of their eight analysts who have submitted picks are going with St. Louis. CBS Sports' experts share that line of thinking, with five of eight favoring the Rams. Finally, two out of Yahoo! Sports' three writers picked the home team to win, as well.
