The Houston Texans are near-unanimous favorites over the Colts on Sunday.
The Houston Texans might have been blown out on the road in New England on Monday night, but not many are expecting another letdown this week as they face the visiting Indianapolis Colts.
The Colts have lost just once in their past eight games and have a chance to steal the division title from Houston, as the two teams face off twice in the final three weeks of the season. The Texans still maintain a strong advantage in nearly every matchup on the field, however, and most experts are picking the home team to win this one.
Joel Thorman of SB Nation writes that it might be a close game, but thinks the Texans will prevail thanks to a strong defense facing a shaky young quarterback:
Believe it or not, the Colts can still win the AFC South. Doing so would require winning out, which would mean beating the Texans twice. Even though Houston was lit up on the big stage last Monday, they're an elite team this season. Only two teams with arguably the two best quarterbacks -- Packers and Patriots -- have beaten the Texans. Andrew Luck's not ready for that yet.
At Yahoo! Sports, only Les Carpenter was willing to pick the Colts for the upset win, while Houston came out as unanimous favorites of the experts at ESPN that have submitted their picks. That formula held true at CBS Sports as well, with all eight experts siding with the Texans.
Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. ET with coverage on CBS.
