In a meeting of two division leaders, experts like the Patriots over the 49ers on Sunday night.
The New England Patriots and San Francisco 49ers are both headed to the playoffs, and when the two teams meet Sunday night in Foxboro, the Patriots are favored to emerge victorious.
Depending on where you look, New England is anywhere from a 5- to 6-point favorite. Experts agree that, by the end of the night, the Patriots will have improved to 11-3 on the year.
Analysts at CBSSports.com almost unanimously picked New England, with Will Brinson the only one out of eight going with the 49ers.
The Patriots come into the game winners of seven straight, having not lost at home since Sept. 16. Of course, Tom Brady and his 29 touchdown passes lead the offensive attack, while Stevan Ridley has rushed for 10 touchdowns and over 1000 yards in 2012.
Les Carpenter and Mike Silver from Yahoo! Sports agree that the Patriots have the upper hand, but Jason Cole is going with San Francisco. The 49ers have the second-best passing defense in the NFL, so if anyone is going to stop Brady and New England, maybe it's San Francisco.
