NFL inactive list, Week 15: Panthers vs. Chargers: Brandon LaFell active for Carolina, Jonathan Stewart inactive

Bob Donnan-US PRESSWIRE

Another of Cam Newton's deep threats is active for today's game in San Diego.

The Panthers have won two of their last three games -- mostly thanks to the exploits of Cam Newton -- and he'll have one of his favorite deep threats in the lineup today, as wide receiver Brandon LaFell will play after missing two practices this week with turf toe.

The bothersome digit kept him out of last week's game against Atlanta, but he'll test it against a hurting Chargers defense today, which will be forced to take on the red-hot Newton without stud linebacker Donald Butler or his backup, linebacker Demorrio Williams.

The Chargers will also be missing right tackle Jeromey Clary, meaning that the already miserable San Diego offensive line will be forced to make do with a patchwork line that will surely struggle to protect Philip Rivers.

Other inactives for the Chargers today include RB Ronnie Brown, OL Tyronne Green, TE Ladarius Green and WR Eddie Royal.

Other inactives for the Panthers today include RB Jonathan Stewart, QB Jimmy Clausen, WR David Gettis, LB James Anderson, G Geoff Hangartner, T Bruce Campbell and DT Dwan Edwards.
