The Buffalo Bills picked up a first down, only they didn't know it. They thought they were inches short and oblivious to the moving chains or the referee pointing for a first down, they came to the line and ran a quarterback sneak. Yeah, a first-down quarterback sneak because they didn't know they had picked up the first down. That sums up the Bills today and why they trail the Seattle Seahawks, 47-17, after three quarters.
To be fair to the hapless Bills, the Seahawks are doing their part too. They are playing fantastic and look set to improve to 9-5 on the season as their run to a playoff spot continues.
A couple of touchdowns before halftime got the Bills back in the game at 31-17, but the Seahawks made sure to put the game out of reach early in the second half. Marshawn Lynch scored just 2:35 into the third quarter to stretch out the lead, then Steven Hauschka added a field goal to make it 40-17. They got some style points later on to go along with another touchdown when Earl Thomas returned a pick 57 yards to silence the crowd in Toronto for Buffalo's pseudo home game.
