The most confusing chain of events this season happened in a New England on Sunday night. Ed Hochuli tried to explain a sequence of events around a second quarter punt, but nobody knew what the hell he was talking about.
What hell is Ed Hochuli talking about? That was the question the entire world of football fans and media members were asking after a confusing chain of events in the second quarter of Sunday night's game between the 49ers and the Patriots.
The Patriots punted on 4th-and-6 to the 49ers 32-yard line. San Francisco was flagged for a penalty. New England got dinged for a first touching violation, when a player from the kicking team touches the ball before it was touched by a player from the receiving team.
Downing a punt is not a penalty, just a no-no.
Belichick challenged. Lost. The 49ers ended up with the ball, and America has a headache.
@rapsheet OK. Pats challenged Ginn on the ball. But there was a flag on NE. Then it was on SF. Then it was reviewed. Then flag was enforced.

But we've got something to enjoy from the whole exchange, several things. Let's start with the Hooded One looking confused and angry.
The video of Ed Hochuli explaining the call and shushing the crowd in mid-explanation is pretty entertaining too.
