Seahawks vs. Bills 2012: Seahawks offense historically great (again) in Week 15

The Seattle Seahawks put up 50 points against the Bills in Week 15. Last weekend, they scored 58 against the struggling Arizona Cardinals. For an offense that needed six games to eclipse the 108-point mark at the start of the year, their sudden offensive outburst has to mean good things moving forward.

As SB Nation's Seahawks blog, Field Gulls, explained following their 50-17 win over Buffalo, the last two offensive performances are historically impressive.

The Seahawks became just the third team in NFL history to score 50+ points in back-to-back games, and the first in 62 years to do it, by beating the Bills 50-17 today in Toronto. Seattle scored on their first five possessions, and after the Bills mounted a bit of a comeback in the 2nd quarter to cut the halftime lead to 31-17, Seattle ran away with it in the 2nd half thanks to a couple of turnovers created by the defense.

It is worth noting that the last two games for Seattle were against two teams with losing records and average-to-poor defenses, but 108 points in 120 minutes of play is impressive nonetheless.

With the playoffs right around the corner, the Seahawks have to like the direction their team is headed. They are still in the hunt for the NFC West crown, and should they reach the postseason, it's tough to imagine anyone wanting to face Russell Wilson, Marshawn Lynch and their stout defense.
