Washington Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III said that he took a full speed, complete practice on Wednesday.
Washington Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III said he participated in practice at full speed on Wednesday, and that he expects to play if coaches and team doctors clear him, according to a post to the team's Twitter feed. Redskins coach Mike Shanahan confirmed RGIII was a full participant in Wednesday's practice.
Griffin missed the Redskins Week 15 game against the Cleveland Browns due to a knee injury suffered the previous week against the Baltimore Ravens. In the lead up to that game, Griffin was adamant that he felt as though he could play, but the team elected to keep him out.
Kirk Cousins made the start in that game, which ended in a 38-21 victory for Washington. Griffin of course wasn't happy with the fact that he didn't get to play in that game, though he was happy that the team got a win and kept its playoff hopes alive.
Griffin has completed 66 percent of his passes on the season, has 2,902 yards and 18 touchdowns against just four interceptions. The Redskins can still win the NFC East, and are also in the running with four other potential teams for the NFC's wild card.
