The Texans are significant favorites over the Vikings in a Week 16 game rich with playoff implications.
The Houston Texans are nine-point favorites heading into their game against the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday at Reliant Stadium in Houston, Texas, according to OddsShark.com.
That may seem like a steep point-spread in a game that features two teams that are still very much in the thick of the playoff race this late in the season. However, the Texans are a different animal at home, while the Vikings have had some struggles on the road this season, despite sitting at 8-6 overall. Houston is 7-1 straight-up at home this season, and 5-2 against the spread. Meanwhile, Minnesota is 2-5 straight-up and against the spread away from the Metrodome.
The over/under for the game is set at 43 1/2. On average, the Texans and Vikings both exceed that number, with Houston and its foes averaging more than 48 points per game, while Minnesota and its opponents combine for nearly 45 per contest.
The Texans and Vikings will kick off at 1 p.m. ET. The game will be televised on FOX.
