The Jets are slight favorites in their Week 16 battle with the Chargers.
In a Week 16 battle of two teams with coaches who appear to be on the hot seat, the New York Jets are one-point favorites over the San Diego Chargers on Sunday at MetLife Stadium.
Rex Ryan's Jets squad has benefitted from a cushy schedule since its Week 9 bye, but has only posted a 3-3 record, with all three wins coming against lackluster opponents (St. Louis, Arizona and Jacksonville). Their 6-8 record is a far cry from what most Jets players and fans might have expected heading into the 2012 season. New York lost to the Tennessee Titans, 14-10, in Week 15 in a game that was a comedy of errors.
The Chargers, under head coach Norv Turner, haven't fared much better. San Diego has lost six of its last seven games, and is coming off a 31-7 blowout at the hands of the Carolina Panthers last Sunday.
The over/under is currently set at 40.5. Given both teams' futility of late, that mark could be a bit lofty.
Kickoff is slated for 1 p.m. ET and the game will be televised on CBS.
