The Vikings are fighting for their playoff lives, but most NFL experts are picking the Texans on Sunday.
The Minnesota Vikings have worked their way back into the playoff picture with two straight wins, but not many NFL analysts are picking them to notch a third straight win when they face the Houston Texans on Sunday.
The focus on Sunday will be on Adrian Peterson and his quest to set the NFL single-season rushing record, but there will be playoff implications for both sides. The Texans clinched the AFC South but are still playing for playoff seeding while the Vikings are among a crowded group of teams playing for the NFC wild card spots.
SB Nation's Joel Thorman picked the Texans to win 27-20. Thorman cited the fact Houston is playing at home and is playing for home-field advantage. He was, however, far from the only NFL analyst to pick the Texans as all three Yahoo! Sports analysts also picked Houston.
Picking the game straight up, all eight CBS Sports analysts went with Houston as well. When the 7-1/2-point spread in favor of the Texans came into play, two of the CBS Sports experts picked the Vikings to cover. The picks shouldn't come as too much of a surprise as Minnesota is just 2-5 on the road while Houston is 6-1 at home this season.
