Chris Humphreys-US PRESSWIRE

The Broncos must win and hope for a Texans loss to tie for the top spot in the AFC playoff race.

Before last week's game, the Cleveland Browns had an outside chance at making it to the playoffs. But a 38-21 loss to the Washington Redskins officially eliminated them from playoff contention. Their opponent this week, the Denver Broncos, still has a little something to play for.

The Broncos need some help if they want to get to the No. 1 seed in the AFC. The team ahead of them, the Houston Texans, owns the tiebreaker after a 31-25 loss to Houston earlier this year. The Broncos have to win their final two games which must combine with two Texans losses. The Broncos have won nine straight and finish the season against the Kansas City Chiefs next week after taking on the Browns. The Texans face the Minnesota Vikings this week before finishing the season with a visit to the Indianapolis Colts.

The Browns, meanwhile, are playing for pride. They have been playing much better as of late though. After losing the first five games of the season, Cleveland has gone 5-4 in their last nine.
