St. Louis Rams second-round pick Janoris Jenkins is making an impact.
St. Louis Rams rookie cornerback Janoris Jenkins is making an impact early in his career with another pick-six today against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers -- his fourth interception of the season, and third pick-six.
Jenkins was regarded as one of the most talented cornerbacks in the draft, with some analysts believing he was better than top-ten pick Morris Claiborne. However, a myriad of off-field issues caused him to be available in the second round, where Jeff Fisher and the Rams were happy to add him to their bolstered secondary.
With 66 tackles on the season, and now four interceptions, Jenkins joins Casey Hayward of the Green Bay Packers as the two best cornerbacks from the 2012 class. It's early in their careers, but their respective teams should be thrilled that they have promising cornerbacks, and neither team needed to invest in a first-round pick.
The St. Louis Rams are leading the Tampa Bay Buccaneers early by a score of 7-3.
