The Oakland Raiders are down a touchdown to the Carolina Panthers, and now they've lost safety Tyvon Branch to a foot injury. His return is questionable.
In a matchup of two teams not destined for any postseason play, the Oakland Raiders trail the Carolina Panthers, 7-3, and have lost safety Tyvon Branch to a foot injury, according to the Raiders' official Twitter. His return is questionable.
Branch had two tackles early on in the game before being forced to leave. On the season, the UConn alumnus has 72 tackles and one interception.
Just moments after Branch was forced to leave, the Raiders also lost quarterback Carson Palmer to an injury. There is no word yet on his condition.
The only touchdown of the game so far came on a 23-yard pass from quarterback Cam Newton to Steve Smith with 3:18 to go in the first quarter. Oakland answered with a second-quarter field goal.
The Raiders are currently 4-10 and in third in the AFC West. The Panthers have also struggled through a long season and are 5-9, mired in last place in the NFC South.
